Empowering Students in STEM with The First Tech Challenge

The Newwave Foundation is excited to sponsor The First Tech Challenge (FTC), a robotics competition for students in 7 – 12th grade!

FTC is a robotics club where students learn to design, program, and operate their very own robot using Java and the MIT App, Inventor. Every year, FTC shares a challenge theme such as recycling or natural disaster recovery, for students to consider while creating their robot. After building and testing their robot, teams compete head to head in regional competitions for the opportunity to win scholarship funds.

NWF learned about FTC’s Challenge through Subbu Kemisetti, a NewWave Tech team member who actively participates in his local Fairfax, Virginia Team along with his son. Way to go, Subbu! Thank you for sharing your story with us.
