This week, we’re excited to introduce you to one of our NWF community members and Jr. Business Analyst at NewWave Tech, Ingrid! Ingrid graduated from the University of Maryland in 2014 with a Bachelors in Kinesiology, but after working in a doctor’s office and seeing firsthand how chaotic patient management systems can be, decided she wanted to be part of the solution.

Ingrid enrolled in Howard Community College’s Computer Science program, where she participated in NWF’s spring Code-A-Thon and not only submitted a winning challenge question for the Code-A-Thon, but also led her team to second place through their program designed to extract text from an insurance card using Microsoft’s Character Recognition API.

“At the Code-A-Thon, I got to work with a team for the first time. None of my prior classes had us working in teams before, so experiencing software development as a team was exciting!  I’m super excited to work with the NewWave team on future projects.” – Ingrid
