Thank You for Attending In Your Own Words
Yesterday, Newwave Foundation successfully hosted our student focused webinar in honor of Mental Health Awareness month ‘In Your Own Words!’ We were joined by Newwave Foundation Scholars; Justice Georgie (Morgan State University Sophomore), Maynor Aguilar (Community College of Baltimore County Sophomore), Jordyn Middleton (University of North Carolina Chapel Hill rising Freshman), and Aryn Monroe (Ohio University rising Freshman), Clinical Psychologist & Founder of Open Parachute, Dr.Hayley Watson, and and College Bound, Inc. (D.C.) Executive Director, Kenneth Ward, as our noteworthy moderator.
Our diverse panel of students and mentors spoke from the heart as they shared their stories and perspectives on the importance of Mental Health as it relates to young adults. They touched on school-life balance during COVID, the significance of seeking help and how they support the people in their lives during time of need. We are extremely thankful for your support in making it possible for us to create this space to start breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health. If you missed the chance to attend, we are pleased to share that the ‘In Your Own Words’ is now available to watch here!
