Artificial Intelligence (AI) is taking over, in the best way possible. AI is the simulation of human intelligence in machines programmed to think and problem-solve like us. There are many forms of AI, some of which are the reasons healthcare medicine has improved, checks can be deposited virtually, handwriting can be determined, fraud can be detected, and much more.

Next Wednesday, April 21st, the Business Women’s Giving Circle (BWGC) of Northern Virginia will be hosting their virtual April event ‘AI for All: Applications & Impact of Under Representation’. A panel of experts in AI will be speaking about the impact of under-representation in their field and how diverse teams deliver the best results. 

Among the impressive panel will be Newwave Telecom & Technologies very own Sr. Director for Data Science, Patty Delafuente! We are so excited to support Patty and hear her speak about what we can do to impact change in this growing field. Not only is she a Data Scientist with experience in the federal arena, she is also an active member of Texas A&M’s MS Analytics Advisory Board and an Adjunct Professor for the Graduate Data Science Program at University of Maryland Baltimore County. Patty enjoys having fun exploring machine learning, AI, and Graphing Processing Unit (GPU) programming capabilities.
